Le Labo Tabac 28 smells dark, smoky, warm, and intensely woody, built around a rich tobacco character that feels more like dried cigar leaves and a dimly lit cigar lounge than sweet pipe tobacco. The opening has an immediate spicy, aromatic quality from cardamom before the tobacco becomes dominant, bringing a dry, slightly leathery and smoky richness. As it develops, guaiac wood and cedar add depth and a charred, woody texture, while subtle rum-like warmth gives it a boozy edge without making it overly sweet. The drydown is earthy, smoky, and lingering, with resinous woods and tobacco staying close to the skin. Overall, Tabac 28 is bold, mature, dry, smoky, and sophisticated, with very little of the sugary sweetness found in many modern tobacco fragrances.
